Blazing Rocket was a late scratching at 9.07am due to illness. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Fireman Johnny and Hashtag Yolo were slow to begin. Emmett Ryker went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Viva Maria and Always About Me collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Viva Maria and Always About Me collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Our Spinner and Fireman Johnny collided approaching the home turn checking Our Spinner. Viva Maria and Always About Me collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Emmett Ryker was checked off Our Spinner in the home straight. Emmett Ryker and Always About Me raced wide in the home straight.
Richo Brae began to give ground on the first turn and was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle and right shoulder muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
