Deadly Viking, Red Bolt and Power Overload were slow to begin. Vizzari, Arvo's Caleb and Shirdon Connorae collided soon after the start checking Arvo's Caleb. Power Overload, Red Bolt and Arvo's Caleb collided approaching the first turn checking Power Overload. Red Bolt checked off Vizzari approaching the first turn checking Vizzari. Deadly Viking checked off Shirdon Connorae approaching the home turn. Faint Glimpse and Shirdon Connorae collided approaching the home turn. Power Overload and Deadly Viking collided several times on the home turn, checking both greyounds and causing Deadly Viking to stumble.
Power Overload was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained complete dislocation of left hind toe and was humanely euthanised.
