Out Of Tricks and Never Sober were quick to begin.
Doongalla Gal crossed out and collided several times with Judge Jebrynah in the home straight. Doongalla Gal underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Ashley Onley regarding the racing manners of Doongalla Gal in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Onley, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action
Alazne faltered on the first turn and subsequently lost ground, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg long head triceps injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
