Steward's Report
Spicy Madam was slow to begin.
Coconut Oakland (faltered approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 5 and was found to have a right hock and a right back muscle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Representative Mr P.Gabriel regarding the racing manners of Coconut Oakland approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Representative Mr Gabriel, viewing the available race footage, the injury sustained by the greyhound and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Kris Bar Paddy (eased and turned head outwards on the first turn and again apporaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr W.Hooke regarding Kris Bar Paddy’s racing manners on the first turn and approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Kris Bar Paddy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hooke pleaded guilty to the charge.
