In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 36.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Market Stacey, Toe and Hello Cooper were slow to begin.
Hartland Duke contacted the running rail on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind metatarsal. No stand down period was imposed.
Toe underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a wound to the left stifle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
