Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Spring Martini.
Roxy Crumpet, Affair Beauty and Swooping Swan were slow to begin.
Spring Martini underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Rogers regarding the greyhound pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen. Stewards noted that Spring Martini had failed to enter the catching pen at Ballarat on 15/2/2023 and was issued with a warning on that occasion. Acting in accordance with GAR 129, and being mindful of the safety of Spring Martini, other greyhounds in the race, staff, and participants, Stewards were not satisfied with the performance. Spring Martini was placed on a Satisfactory Trial under GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, with the condition that the greyhound must run past the return gate in order to clear the Satisfactory Trial, before any further nominations are accepted.
