The semaphore board incorrectly displayed "race 1" -
A pre–race sample was taken from Exotic Beauty.
Choice Moment was slow to begin.
Nimble Willow eased and turned its head outwards approahing the home turn.
Nimble Willow underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left forleg and soreness of the neck. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs D Goudge regarding Nimble Willow’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Nimble Willow was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs D Goudge pleaded guilty to the charge. Nimble Willow was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
