Steward's Report
Pacific Goldie was quick to begin. Power Charge, Flying Avenue and Viking were slow to begin.
Viva Audacious visibly turned its head to the outside approaching the 250m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 11. Viva Audacious was found to have a right glutealsmuscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms R. Busuttil regarding Viva Audacious' racing manners approaching the 250m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Viva Audacious was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Busuttil pleaded guilty to the charge. Viva Audacious must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Flying Avenue faltered soon after the start and tailed off, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have be injured in the left sartorius muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Ms A. Peat to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Flying Avenue in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
