Steward's Report
Stewards held the All Clear due to the lure becoming dislodged from the rail as the greyhounds approached the fininshing line. Pursuant to GAR 110 the event was declared a ‘No Race’. All bets to be refunded. The weights recorded for the greyhounds are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. The event was then abandoned, with prizemoney split evenly between the greyhounds which competed in the No Race.
Stewards directed that all greyhounds that competed in the event undergo a veterinary examination as follows :
Rio Lily, Back To Scratch, Mr. Bartender and Paddy Almighty - no apparent injury was reported.
Hello Buddy - was found to have an abrasion to the right hind toe. No stand down period was imposed.
Como Prince - was found to have a base of tail injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
On The Cusp - was found to have a left long head of triceps muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
In the best interests of greyhound racing and the safety of all competitors, Stewards were not comfortably satisfied to proceed with today's program until a full review of the damage is completed and allow for proper remediation to take place. As a result, races 2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,11 and 12 were officially abandoned at 11.15am.
Any decision on the potential re-programming of Event 8 - Healesville Members Trophy Final, will be made by the GRV racing department and pariticpants will be notified accordingly.
