Steward's Report
Urana Lightning – Late scratching at 9:06am when trainer, Michelle Mallia reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Black Bow was quick to begin. Kraken Paddy and Lochinvar Viduka were slow to begin.
What Hope visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound. No day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to representative Mr. H. Goss regarding What Hope’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, What Hope was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Goss pleaded not guilty to the charge. What Hope was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
