Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Secret Reef.
What Hope and Circle The Moon were quick to begin. Aston Pace was slow to begin.
A post–race sample was taken from What Hope – the winner of the event.
Fernando Zoom (turned its head outwards entering the home straight and visibly eased) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foot abrasion, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms M. Mallia regarding Fernando Zoom’s racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Fernando Zoom was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge. Fernando Zoom has been stood down from racing at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
