Steward's Report
Claretown Mickey was quick to begin. Mr. Boo and Alpha Dash were slow to begin.
Ricky Zoom checked on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind toe injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Des Dooley regarding the racing manners of Ricky Zoom through the first turn. After hearing submissions from Mr D Dooley, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Escaping Kloee raced wide throughout and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms Lisa Farquhar regarding the racing manners of Escaping Kloee throughout the event. After hearing submissions from Ms Farquhar, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
Alpha Dash brushed the running rail on the first turn and marred another greyhound approaching the finishing line, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triceps muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Scott Millard regarding Alpha Dash's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Alpha Dash was charged with marring. Mr Millard pleaded guilty to the charge. Alpha Dash was suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
