Steward's Report
Valve Bounce, Rita Maid and Galloping Lucy were quick to begin. Unsurpassed was slow to begin.
Big Stack collided with Rita Maid in the first turn and subsequently fell, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left front foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Galloping Lucy crossed out in the first turn and subsequently lost ground, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a abrasion to the left front and back feet. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the positioning of the lure on the first turn. After viewing the footage and having their own observations of the incident, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that whilst the lure was more than 8 metres ahead of the leading greyhound on the first turn, no greyhounds were advantaged or disadvantaged so as to affect the outcome of the Event. The All Clear was posted.
