Hocus Pocus– Late scratching at 16:28 when Mr Robin Moore reported the greyhound to have illness (vomiting) (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
A pre–race sample was taken from Fire Ant.
Rumour Not Fact and Fire Ant were quick to begin. Mighty Hannibal was slow to begin.
Aeroplane Ricky lost ground over the concluding stages, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both back muscles and a spike wound to the left ear. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
