Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Gravitational on 9/8/2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
A race day sample was taken from Breeze Breaker, Storm Key and Gravitational at the trainer’s kennel earlier today.
Pursuant to GAR 75(7), Steward Ms Demi Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
A pre–race sample was taken from Danni's Gem.
My Cool Jack was slow to begin.
Breeze Breaker raced wide on the home turn.
State The Facts turned its head to the outside and visibly eased on the home turn and marred Breeze Breaker in the home straight. State The Facts underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Cheryle Ragen regarding State The Fact’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, State The Facts was charged with marring. Ms. Ragen pleaded guilty to the charge. State The Facts was suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Breeze Breaker was severely hampered from the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both back muscles and left triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Gravitational was severely hampered from the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
