At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.4 degrees. Galloping Jimmy (severely checked and lost ground in the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right long head triceps muscle injury and left hind leg shin soreness. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Ohana Paw Patrol (fell after the finishing line) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Hot Cross underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Joe Uglietta regarding the racing manners of Hot Cross in the home straight. Stewards heard submissions from Mr. Uglietta and viewed the available race footage. In doing so, Stewards noted that head-on footage for the event was largely unavailable. In considering these factors, Stewards issued a warning to the greyhound.

Xoie Bale (visibly eased in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Ms. Deborah Coleman declined the option to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Ms. Coleman regarding Xoie Bale’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Xoie Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge. Xoie Bale was suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
