Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Bakali Migaloo on 29 October 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
Donegal Express was quick to begin. Barfly was slow to begin.
Barfly (contacted the rail soon after the start, faltered and tailed off), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 6. Barfly was found to have injuries to the left monkey muscle, left deltoid and left sartorius. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Bakali Migaloo (faltered at the 200m mark and lost ground), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 4. Bakali Migallo was found to have injuries to the right supraspinatus, right deltoid and right wrist. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards noted that the muzzle on Inter Mary became dislodged soon after the start.
A post-race sample was taken from Financier - the winner of the event.
