A sample was taken from Superior Shirley upon arrival at the course.
Short Fuse – New declared weight of 32.3kg, last raced at 31.1kg.
Mystic Love was quick to begin.
Texicali Sweety lost ground from the 150m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr Michael Davison declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Davison regarding the greyhound's performance and racing manners over the concluding stages of the event. After hearing submissions from Mr Davison, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Texicali Sweety unsatisfactory. Texicali Sweety must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Mr Davison stated that he now intends to retire the greyhound.
