Grandpa and Foxy Faun were quick to begin. Will She Stay, Matt's Image and Mo City were slow to begin.
Matt's Image (checked on the first turn, raced wide checking Will She Stay on the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have chest and triangle injuries. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post–race sample was taken from Foxy Faun – the winner of the event.
