An out of competition sample was taken from Sandy Taupe on 26 July 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
Long Miles Home – New declared weight of 29.1 kg, last raced at 28.0 kg.
Aussie Supreme was slow to begin.
Aussie Supreme was severely checked and contacted the running rail in the first turn and subsequently tailed off. Aussie Supreme underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg elbow injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Neverland King turned its head on the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.Stewards spoke to Ms Melanie Lithgow regarding Neverland King’s racing manners in the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Neverland King was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Lithgow pleaded guilty to the charge. Neverland King was suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
