Arctic Storm – New declared weight of 27.2, last raced at 29.0.
A pre–race sample was taken from Viking Commander.
Viking Commander and Jolly Johnny were slow to begin.
Viking Commander lost ground in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Arctic Storm lost ground in the home straight, underwent a post-race veternary examination - no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr. C. Hose, regarding the performance of Arctic Storm in this event. After hearing submissions from Mr. Hose, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Arctic Storm to be unsatisfactory and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards further directed that Mr. Hose must produce a veterinary certificate certifying that the greyhound is not suffering from a condition to the satisfaction of the Stewards pursuant to GAR 129(b).
