Rose Of Terang was quick to begin. Jolly Roger was slow to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start.
Rose Of Terang-Lost ground on first turn and trailled the field, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pencil muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr P. Herry regarding Rose Of Terang’s performance. After hearing submissions from Mr Herry, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Rose Of Terang unsatisfactory. Rose Of Terang must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre–race sample was taken from Breakwall.
Striking Holly and Breakwall were quick to begin.
Striking Holly raced wide home straight.
Chasing Poppy (Faltered, checked and pulled up soon after the start) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock strain. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track in the back straight and deemed it satisfactory for racing.

Steward's Report
Zambora Jade was quick to begin. Myola Queen and Bourne Blue were slow to begin.
Hatchet Harry eased and turned it's head inwards on two occassions in the early part of the home straight.
Hatchet Harry underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representitive Mrs C. Roberts regarding Hatchet Harry’s racing manners in the early part of the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Hatchet Harry was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs C. Roberts pleaded guilty to the charge. Hatchet Harry must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Zambora Jade – the winner of the event.
