Wild Printers – Late scratching at 10:25am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a laceration to the right front toe. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Son Of Cecil was slow to begin.

Othello Bale lost ground throughout the event, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Glen Burns regarding Othello Bale's overall performance in the event and the greyhound's previous injury history from racing. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Arandt About - Late scratching at 8:13am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Connections of Arandt About informed Stewards of a vehicle incident on–route to the track. Stewards advised connections that evidence of the incident will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.

Impress Simba was quick to begin and raced wide soon after the start.

Mr Brian Sonneman was reminded of his responsibilities for failing to follow the Starter's orders when boxing Unique Artist, pursuant to GAR 105.

Selma Slick was quick to begin.

Pacific Surf was severely checked approaching the 150m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion on the left fibula. A 3 day stand down was imposed. 

Ravenna Bale, Prince Of Melton and Occipital were slow to begin. 

Mr Stephen Tabb failed to provide a catcher for Occipital at the conclusion of the race. A warning was issued pursuant GAR 99.

Ms Andrea Condon failed to catch Ravenna Bale at the conclusion of the race. A warning was issued for negligence, pursuant to GAR 156(f).

A pre-race sample was taken from Panza Attack.

Panza Attack was slow to begin.

Baldo underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the Trainer and was found to have sand toes to the front left and hind left toes. A 5 day stand down priod was imposed.

Omega Landen raced ungenerously approaching the 50m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe and left metatarsal. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Rose Forbes regarding the racing manners of Omega Landen approaching the 50m mark. After hearing submissions from Ms. Forbes, viewing the available race footage, in particular the head on vision, and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.

Stewards noted that the semaphored board incorrectly semaphored race number (6) for this event. 

There were no reportable incidents in this event. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Blackzin Prince on 5 June 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.

Little Nellie was quick to begin. Straight Shooter and Three Bears were slow to begin. 

A post-race sample was taken from Little Nellie - the winner of the event. 

Inter Cyborg was quick to begin. 

Inter Cyborg, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Call Me Dusty was quick to begin. Thunder Struck was slow to begin. 

Speedy Magpie turned its head to the inside at the 50m mark, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind metatarsal. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Billy Galea regarding Speedy Magpie ’s racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Speedy Magpie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Galea pleaded guilty to the charge. Speedy Magpie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Hang On Peppa upon arrival at the course.

Turbulent was quick to begin. Sidewinder was slow to begin. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Skip's Turn.

Magic Changes was quick to begin. Skip's Turn began awkwardly and was slow to begin. 

Baggy's Gold faltered at the 200m mark and subsequently pulled up, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. 

A post-race sample was taken from Saintly Sal - the winner of the event.
