Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Shrinking Violet on 11 May 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
Smirkey – Late scratching at 1:20pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Ms Aroha Hemingway was fined $100.
Tinker Pat - New declared weight of 29.8kgs, last raced at 31.2kgs.
Tinker Pat and Brave Lad were quick to begin. Shrinking Violet and Straight Shooter were slow to begin.
Shrinking Violet (raced wide entering the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated toe and laceration on the left foreleg. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A post–race blood sample was taken from Tinker Pat – the winner of the event.
