Dewana Daicos was checked turning off the back straight and lost considerable ground, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right metatarsal fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry with Mr Colin Baker, the trainer of Floppy Roo in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal of the greyhound from this event. Pursuant to GAR 76(3), Stewards requested that Mr Baker present Floppy Roo to Geelong Greyhound Racing Club during today's race meeting for a veterinarian examination. Upon examination, Floppy Roo was found to have a right triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

A pre–race sample was taken from Hilton Hawk.

Jagger Bale – Late scratching at 3:23PM on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a flexor tendon injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards finalised an inquiry in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal of Floopy Roo from this event. Stewards reminded Mr. Baker of his responsibilities when scratching a greyhound pursuant to GAR 76(7). 

Pursuant to GAR 75(6) starter Ms Donna Robertson did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way, affected the outcome of this event.

Lala Quick and Little Zambora were quick to begin. Desired Path and Lolly Shop Girl were slow to begin.
