Steward's Report
Seasonal – Late scratching at 7.43am when Mr. Thomas Dailly reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Gamache was quick to begin. Cabao Coco was slow to begin.
Gaskin Bale was checked entering the back straight, lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain and a spike wound to the right hind. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Blackpool Darren marred Lochinvar Viduka on the turn out of the back straight and underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Adrian Kenyon regarding Blackpool Darren's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Blackpool Darren was charged with marring. Mr. Kenyon pleaded guilty to the charge. Blackpool Darren was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Gamache - the winner of the event.
