In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22.2 degrees and the kennel temperature were 18.0 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Raccoon Ruby and Acoustic were quick to begin. Dock The Ship and Everglade were slow to begin.

Dock The Ship was checked on the first turn and stumbled, underwent a post-race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

A sample was taken from Especial Digger upon arrival at the course.

Burner Debt was quick to begin. Crave Calamity and Tat Kenny were slow to begin.

Run Ruby Run was quick to begin. Aston Handley was slow to begin.

Stewards held the All Clear after several ducks entered the track in the home straight during the running of the event, as the greyhounds turned into the home straight. After reviewing all available video footage and acting on their observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that the incident had no effect on the outcome of the placings for the race. The All Clear was given on numbers 6-3-8-2.

The Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that Walden Bale's chances in the race were not materially prejudiced by the ducks in the home straight. As such, the Stewards declared Walden Bale to be a non–starter. Bets on Walden Bale are to be refunded. The weight recorded for Walden Bale is void and does not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhound’s next start.

Jill's A Star was quick to begin.

Hazelnut and Our Winnie were quick to begin.

Hendrik Bale underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainers request and was found to have a left hind plantar split webbing. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Mohinga Chase.

Funky Felix was slow to begin.

Mohinga Chase faltered soon after the start and tailed off, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Off The Cuff fell in the catching pen, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a split webbing on the right foreleg . A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stagger out Elly– New declared weight of 27.8kg last raced at 28.9kg.

Alinta's Gift– New declared weight of 29.4kg last raced at 28.0kg

Stewards spoke to Mr. Josh Duncan regarding the racing manners of La Brea approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Mr. Duncan, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

Coach Beard was slow to begin. 

Coach Beard - underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainers request and was found to have a laceration to the left hind leg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

This event was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes due to operational matters.
