Triple Eight was slow to begin.
Fernandes Mac was checked at the 100m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left triangle muscle and front left toe. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Triple Eight faltered approaching the 100m mark and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
A post–race sample was taken from My Obsession – the winner of the event.
