Gabriella Maree, Tammy and Nanna's Blue Boy were quick to begin.

Tammy underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr David Mckenzie regarding the behaviour of Tammy in pulling up before the return gate and not entering the catching pen. The Stewards hold concerns that this poses an unnecessary safety issue for Tammy, for other greyhounds in the race and staff that triage these types of incidents. Mr Mckenzie was reminded that further such instances of this nature may result in Tammy being placed on a conditional satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 129.

Forever A Dream was severely checked on the first turn causing the greyhound to falter and pull up as a result. Forever A Dream underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a long head triceps injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the first turn and deemed it satisfactory for racing.

Commander Tommy – Late scratching at 5:00pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to an open wound injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Atticus Bale was slow to begin.

Zoha Bale contacted the running rail approaching the third turn and subsequently underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Aston Sunset and Spanish Miss were quick to begin. Gypsy Ha Ha was slow to begin.

Devante was dircted to undergo a post-race veterinary examination after faltering entering the back straight and lost ground as a result.

Stewards spoke to Stephen Bruce (via telephone), the trainer of Devante after they left the course today without Stewards permission and without having the greyhound vetted following the event. Stewards directed Mr Bruce to present Devante at the Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club for a veterinary examination on the 23 January 2023. Stewards will finalise an inquiry with Mr Bruce at a later date.

Nicky Mustang and Obsession Agogo were slow to begin.

It was noted that the muzzle of Beware Bob became partially dislodged during the running of the event.
