Steward's Report
Clovalley Bev was quick to begin. Bablitz, Jumangi Spur, Nimble Kay, Coco Savi and Puzzle And Me collided soon after the start checking Jumangi Spur, Nimble Kay and Coco Savi. Nimble Kay lost ground approaching the first turn. Jumangi Spur checked off Coco Savi approching the first turn. Allen Grundy, Clovalley Bev, Implied Pressure and Puzzle And Me collided on the first turn checking Implied Pressure and Puzzle And Me. Puzzle And Me and Bablitz collided approaching the home turn checking Puzzle And Me. Jumangi Spur and Nimble Kay raced wide on the home turn. Clovalley Bev raced wide in the home straight. Implied Pressure crossed to the rail approaching the winning post.
When questioned regarding the performance of Nimble Kay, trainer Mr G Barnsley stated that in his opinion the greyhound is best suited over a longer distance. He added that when nominating the greyhound, tonights event over 390m was his second option. He further added that he had trialled Nimble Kay at Shepparton last Thursday over the 450m and based on that run he felt the greyhound would have been competitive tonight. Stewards issued a warning to Mr G Barnsley, the trainer of Nimble Kay regarding the greyhound’s racing manners and advised Mr Barnsley that if Nimble Kay were to perform to the same standard in future stronger action may be taken.
Nimble Kay was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
