A sample was taken from Straight Shooter upon arrival at the course.
Gippsland Boy – New declared weight of 31.4kgs, last raced at 33.0kgs at Shepparton on 4 May, 2023.
Little Blazer and Shrinking Violet were quick to begin. Gippsland Boy went up with the lids and lost ground.
Gippsland Boy (lost ground from the 200m) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle and a right triangle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Almighty Mack - the winner of the event.
