Fresh Ability underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left gracilis strain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Gerard O'Keeffe regarding Fresh Ability's racing manners from approaching the 100m mark to the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Fresh Ability was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr O'Keeffe pleaded guilty to the charge. Fresh Ability perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Modest faltered approaching the 200m mark and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left gracilis and left tensor facia lata muscles. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Hot Cross turned its head to the outside at the 100m mark, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 10 – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Joe Uglietta regarding Hot Cross' racing manners at the 100m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Hot Cross was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Uglietta pleaded guilty to the charge. Hot Cross was suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Patrick Furci regarding his conduct behind the starting boxes for this event. A severe reprimand for inappropriate behaviour was issued pursuant to GAR 165(a).

It's Academic was quick to begin. 

Stewards spoke to Ms Debra Winter regarding the racing manners of It's Academic at the 200m mark. After hearing submissions from Ms. Winter, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.

Aston Sergio was quick to begin. 

Mr Darren Peteresen requested an early race endorsement for Smirkey. Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian. Smirkey will compete in early races until further notice.
