Steward's Report
Aston Marvel was quick to begin. Got Rhythm was slow to begin.
Irelyn Bale (galloped on and fell entering the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported.
Osanna Bale raced ungenerously entering the home straight. Stewards spoke to representative Mr M. Johnson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. After hearing evidence from Mr Johnson, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into careful consideration that Irelyn Bale fell near Osanna Bale and the effect this incident would reasonably have had on the racing manners of Osanna Bale. Stewards were of the belief that the option to charge Osanna Bale under the failing to pursue rules was open to them, but declined to do so as this would be contrary to the spirit of the rules.
