Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Robert Tolson regarding the scratching of his greyhound Itchy Kaala. Mr. Tolson advised stewards that Itchy Kaala is injured. Stewards noted Mr. Tolson's comments - no further action was taken.
Clase Azul was quick to begin. Blackpool Homer was slow to begin.
Clase Azul (severely checked and lost ground approaching the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury, a right carpal sprain and exhaustion. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
College Girl (severely checked and galloped on in the back straight) and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Paul Ellis regarding the racing manners of College Girl in the back straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Ellis, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners
