Steward's Report
Out of competition samples were taken from He's No Slouch and Aston Lira on Tuesday, 7 March 2023 pursuant to GAR 139. Out of competition samples were taken from Stealth, Call Me Marley, Zara's Ivan, Baby Jaycee, Jungle Panther, Panadero Warrior, Matt's Hope and Piscopo Bale on Wednesday, 8 March 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
Stealth was quick to begin. Jungle Panther was slow to begin.
Matt's Hope raced ungenerously and tired over the concluding stages, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Brayden Klemke regarding the racing manners of Matt's Hope over the concluding stages. After hearing submissions from Mr Klemke, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
Post–race blood and urine samples were taken from Jungle Panther – the winner of the event. Post–race urine samples were taken from Aston Lira (2nd) and Matt's Hope (3rd).
