Steward's Report
Out of competition samples were taken from Hey Tootle and Chasing Jimmy on Wednesday, 8 March 2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
Oana Bale and Grumpy Sailor were slow to begin.
Oana Bale turned it's head inwards approaching the winning post and collided with Chasing Jimmy, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left foreleg wrist spain injury; a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Mr Jonah Howard-Bolton regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Oana Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Howard-Bolton pleaded not guilty to the charge, Oana Bale was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
