Steward's Report
This event was rescheduled to start at 6.02pm.
A pre–race sample was taken from Lederhosen Boy.
Ten Dollar Slaps (checked and fell approaching the first turn and collided with the running rail upright). Following the event Ten Dollar Slaps was pronounced deceased by the On–Track Veterinarian. The greyhound was found to have a spinal fracture and fractures to both front legs.
Stewards inspected the track in the area approaching the first turn and deemed it suitable for racing.
Supplementary Report – 10 May 2023 - A post mortem report was conducted on Ten Dollar Slaps, who was pronounced deceased by the On–Track Veterinarian following the running of this race. The likely cause of death was a haemorrhage within the thorax (with lung collapse) and abdomen and a major spinal cord injury.
