Prior to the announcement of the All Clear, Stewards reviewed the race footage after two birds were positioned on the outside of the track in the home straight and alighted as the greyhounds approached. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected, so as to effect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.

Ten Dollar Slaps (checked and fell approaching the first turn and collided with the running rail upright). Following the event Ten Dollar Slaps was pronounced deceased by the On–Track Veterinarian. The greyhound was found to have a spinal fracture and fractures to both front legs.

Stewards inspected the track in the area approaching the first turn and deemed it suitable for racing.

Supplementary Report – 10 May 2023 - A post mortem report was conducted on Ten Dollar Slaps, who was pronounced deceased by the On–Track Veterinarian following the running of this race. The likely cause of death was a haemorrhage within the thorax (with lung collapse) and abdomen and a major spinal cord injury.

This event was rescheduled to start at 6:17pm and was further delayed to start at 6:23pm due to operational requirements.

Secretly Slick -Late scratching at 9:55AM when Trainer Mark Roberts reported the greyhound to have a left wrist injury(GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
