Steward's Report
Mighty Hercules was slow to begin.
Don't Tell Benji visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Darren Petersen regarding Don't Tell Benji’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Don't Tell Benji was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Petersen pleaded guilty to the charge and Don't Tell Benji must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Scarlett's Wish raced ungenerous approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervicothoracic injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Donald Jarvis regarding the racing manners of Scarlett's Wish. After hearing submissions from Mr. Jarvis, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
Shades Of Cool visibly eased and turned its head approaching the 100m mark, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. Jacob Biddell declined the option to have the greyhound re–examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Biddell regarding Shades Of Cool’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Shades Of Cool was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Biddell pleaded guilty to the charge and Shades Of Cool was suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
