Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Jasper on 12 October 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.
A pre–race sample was taken from Oswald's Delight.
Skipper Jack was slow to begin. On The Mint was very slow to bein (3 lengths). What A Spirit was quick to begin.
Back Pay eased in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Alf Debatista regarding the racing manners of Back Pay in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Alf Debattsta, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
