Steward's Report
Ebony Riot, Louie Zeus and Unleaded Diesel were slow to begin.
Barbara Ann underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Matthew Clark regarding the racing manners of Barbara Ann entering the turn off the back straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Clark, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Ebony Riot raced ungenerously entering the turn off the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following the running of Race 10. Found to have injuries to the left-fore deltoid muscle and left-hind triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Colin Bermingham regarding the racing manners of Ebony Riot. After hearing submissions from Mr. Bermingham, considering the extent of the greyhound's injuries, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
