It's Academic turned its head inwards in the home straight and marred Audrey Zola, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Rosalie Kerr regarding It's Academic’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 It's Academic was charged with marring. Ms. Kerr pled guilty to the charge, It's Academic was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from It's Academic - the winner of the event.
