Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was unable to be obtained from Rare Space, a post–race sample was subsequently taken.
Tinker Jane, Miss Giveaway and Cruisin' Blaze were quick to begin. Tinker Kim was slow to begin.
Rare Space checked on the first turn, eased approaching the home turn and pulled up, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have thoraco-lumbar injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs Susan Gray regarding Rare Space’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Rare Space was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Gray pleaded to the charge, Rare Space was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
