Steward's Report
Weird Ways was slow to begin.
Angus Anchovy raced wide approaching the home turn and collided with Mepunga Echo, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg deltoid muscle injury. A five day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Fischer regarding the racing manners of Angus Anchovy approaching the home turn. After hearing submissions from Mr Fisher, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.
Weird Ways trailed the field and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
A post–race sample was taken from New Wave Whine – the winner of the event.
