Aston Macallan, Tiggerlong Egg and Late For Love were slow to begin.
Empress Sal was severely checked on the turn out of the back straight, lost ground and underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Quest For Fame underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness on the left foreleg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Bradley Debono regarding Quest For Fame's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Quest For Fame was charged with marring. Mr. Debono pled guilty to the charge. Quest For Fame was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
