Steward's Report
Slick Amy – New declared weight of 28.3kg, last raced at 27.2kg.
Jimmy The Pumper was quick to begin.
Supply Chain marred Jimmy The Pumper entering the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both long head triceps, right shoulder and left triangle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Benny Briffa regarding Supply Chain’s racing manners turning into the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Supply Chain was charged with marring. Mr Briffa pled guilty to the charge, Supply Chain was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Fifty Stars underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have suffered a seizure in the catching pen. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under the provisions of GAR 42, Fifty Stars is prohibited from competing in an event until such time as both a veterinary clearance is provided to the satisfaction of Stewards and a satisfactory trial is completed, pursuant to GAR 132. Further, under the provisions of GAR 42 (3) Fifty Stars, is suspended from racing for 28 days.
A post-race sample was taken from Fifty Stars - the winner of the event.
In accordance with GAR 156(w) Mr Benny Briffa was issued with a warning regarding the non–compliance with the GRV Dress Code.
