Steward's Report
Pacific Prayer was quick to begin. Seriously Fly was slow to begin.
Jet Fighter visibly eased on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to left back muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Grant Walker regarding Jet Fighter’s racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Jet Fighter was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Walker pled guilty to the charge, Jet Fighter was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Pacific Prayer - the winner of the event.
