Steward's Report
Chappy's Thief and Gold Mate were slow to begin.
Why Not Jules underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards questioned Trainer Mr L. Carter regarding the greyhound's characteristics in the catching pen. Mr Carter explained that the greyhound is very timid and can lay down in the catching pen until he arrives. After taking evidence from Club officials in the catching pen and considering the On Track Veterinarians report Stewards accepted Mr Carter's explanation.
