Amazonian Queen raced wide in the home straight.
Amazonian Queen lost ground soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left wrist and right hock. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Chappy's Thief and Gold Mate were slow to begin.
Why Not Jules underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards questioned Trainer Mr L. Carter regarding the greyhound's characteristics in the catching pen. Mr Carter explained that the greyhound is very timid and can lay down in the catching pen until he arrives. After taking evidence from Club officials in the catching pen and considering the On Track Veterinarians report Stewards accepted Mr Carter's explanation.
