Steward's Report
Gutherson – Late scratching at 7.50am acting on a confirmed telephone call with Mr Calven Russell who advised that the kennel had a vehicle breakdown. Stewards advised Mr Russell that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. A 28 day stand period is imposed unti the matter is re–evaluated upon receipt of that evidence.
Nowhere Nathe was quick to begin. Go Gigi Go was slow to begin.
Society Icon faltered approaching the turn off the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right gracilis muscle tear, as well as soreness to the left biceps femoris muscle and the right and left tensor fascia latae muscles. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Supplementary Report - 20 September 2022 - Evidence to support the breakdown, to the satisfaction of the Stewards, was produced which resulted in the 28 day stand-down being lifted for Gutherson.
